Love At First Bite?
Just wanted to update everyone. Babygirl arrived around 3pm today. I must say...I am so in love. She is absolutely gorgeous. I've named her Akiko, Kiko for short, and it means Child of Autumn in Japanese (for those that didn't know, Akitas are originally from Japan). She's acclimating well...I think the plane ride stressed her out a bit so she's just resting right now. Here are some photos (some with my niece...I'm pretty sure they've taken to each other).

She is amazing. She was born in early September. She's just 6 weeks old. I think she's gonna be a big 'un
She's precious. So is your niece.
Screw Steve America, the name is perfect. :)
Okay, that's the cutest thing ever.
Holy crap that's a cute dog - congrats - how big do they think she'll be? She looks pretty big for 6 weeks. How was your first night together? Has she staked out the bed yet?
har.. just noticed in pic 4 -- Looks like she's already perfected the art of smudging up the glass slider door :)
Looks like a miniature Cujo.
Thanks all. She's great so far. I still can't get over how cute she is...I mean, photos don't even do her justice.
Paul - She'll likely be around 70-80 pounds. She is big for six weeks...paws and legs are massive. First night was good...she slept through the night until around 5am. We had a little accident, so she almost lasted the entire night. She can't get up on the bed yet, and she started whining a little last night when I put her up there. Might be a couple months before she can jump up on her own ;)
As for the sliding glass door..uh, ya...she likes to look outside, nose rubbing against the door in the process. Have to keep a fresh supply of Windex.
Phil - Cujo...hmm...now that you mention it, we were watching television last night and she started foaming a little at the mouth when Dee Wallace Stone appeared. But maybe Kiko just hates horrible actresses?
